- Firmly grip the steering wheel.
- Shift the gear selector into reverse.
- Perform a shoulder check in the direction you're moving. Turn your body and head to the right if reversing straight back or to the right, and look over your right shoulder. If reversing to the left, turn your body and head to the left, and look over your left shoulder.
- Check the opposite shoulder as well.
- When turning while reversing, make sure the front end of your vehicle doesn't hit anything.
- Ensure there's no sign prohibiting U-turns.
- Signal for a right turn.
- Check your mirror and over your shoulder.
- Pull over to the right side of the road.
- Signal a left turn, and when traffic is clear in both directions, move forward, turning quickly and sharply into the opposite lane.
- Keep an eye on traffic as you turn.
- If you cannot see at least 150 meters in both directions.
- On a curve, near a railway crossing or hilltop, or close to a bridge or tunnel that obstructs your view.
- Move forward and turn the steering wheel sharply left towards the curb on the far side of the road.
- When you reach the left side of the road, stop, shift the vehicle into reverse, and signal a right turn.
- After checking that the way is still clear, turn the steering wheel sharply to the right while backing up slowly to the other side of the road. Stop, shift to forward gear, and check traffic. When the way is clear, drive forward.
