Class G1: You can only drive G-class vehicles with a Full G driver with at least four years of experience. Highways are off-limits.
Class G2: You can drive without an accompanying driver, but your blood alcohol level must be zero. There are additional limitations that you can learn more about here.
Class G: You can drive any car, van, small truck, or combination of vehicles and towed vehicles up to 11,000 kilograms, provided the towed vehicle is not over 4,600 kilograms. A pickup truck towing a house trailer that exceeds 4,600 kilograms is still considered a Class G if the total combined weight doesn't exceed 11,000 kilograms.
Class M is the motorcycle licence, which includes motorcycles, motor tricycles, limited-speed motorcycles, and motor-assisted bicycles (mopeds). You may drive G-class vehicles as well, but only with the conditions of a G1 driver. Class M also has graduated licensing.
Class M1: You can drive class M vehicles for learning purposes for up to 90 days. No highways, night driving, or alcohol allowed.
Class M2: Most of the M1 restrictions are removed, but still, no alcohol. You must hold an M1 Licence for at least 60 days before attempting the riding test. Your blood alcohol level must also be zero while driving.
Each of these licence classes requires you to hold a valid G licence first and then pass a test related to the specific vehicle type the licence is for.
Class D: For driving motor vehicles exceeding 11,000 kg (excluding buses with passengers) and any tractor-trailer combination, provided the towed vehicle is less than 4,600 kg.
Class A: For driving any tractor-trailer combination, including towed vehicles greater than 4,600 kg. It's an upgraded D class, but holding a D class is not required to have an A.
Class C, Class E, Class F, and Class B: These licences allow you to drive buses with varying weights and maximum passenger capacities.
